Diagnostic Equipment We Use to Help Our Patients
Our animal hospital uses a wide range of testing equipment, including:
- Blood chemistry analyzer
- Complete Blood Count (CBC) machine
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasound
- Blood pressure machine
- ECG machine
- Pulse oximetry (SpO2)
- Tonopen (for eye pressure check)
We can perform in-house laboratory testing for urgent medical situations. Sunflower Veterinary Center also works with reference laboratories for non-urgent testing or to provide results we cannot obtain in-house.
Pet X-Ray and Ultrasound Imaging
Our animal hospital uses digital radiography (X-ray) and ultrasound equipment to go further in diagnosing issues and developing a more complete health profile for our patients. With digital X-ray, we can safely and efficiently obtain high-contrast radiographs of the bones/joints, heart, lungs, and other areas of interest.
Pet ultrasound is somewhat similar in that it is non-invasive, painless, and lets us see what’s going on inside your pet. With soundwave pulses, our ultrasound equipment can aid in determining internal organ system abnormalities. While the doctors at Sunflower Veterinary Center are able to identify some larger and more obvious abnormalities on ultrasound, if your pet needs a more comprehensive ultrasound of their organ systems, we will not hesitate to refer you to a specialist to have this performed. Identifying intricate abnormalities on ultrasound is truly an art that specialists have worked their entire career to perfect. We recognize this and want to make sure your pet receives the best evaluation and interpretation, so that an accurate diagnosis is made.
