The Story Behind Our Name
Our animal hospital’s name, Sunflower Veterinary Center, has special meaning behind it. After Dr. Scanlon’s mother, Imogene Dietrich, passed away unexpectedly in 2017, her father planted fields of sunflowers in her memory at their home in Germansville, PA. The sunflower fields have since become a local attraction, drawing in people from far and wide. Dr. Scanlon hopes to carry on her mother’s legacy by creating an experience at Sunflower Veterinary Center that matches her kindness and compassion.

Our Veterinary Services
We are here to support you and your pet with thorough individualized care, comprehensive education, and access to cutting-edge technology and external specialists. Everything we do, we do to give your animal family member the longest and happiest life. To that end, we offer a variety of services, including:
Wellness Care
Puppies, kittens, adult, and senior pets all receive customized breed-specific care based on their unique needs. This care includes wellness exams, immunizations, disease screens, and nutrition recommendations.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations are central to your pet’s disease protection, increasing their immunity to harmful organisms and keeping them safer, and healthier, for longer.
Dental Care
To keep your pet healthy, you need to clean their teeth. Along with brushing their teeth at home, you can bring your pet to our animal hospital for professional deep cleanings to reduce their risk for dental disease and to extract those teeth that are already diseased.
Spay and Neuter
Dogs and cats should be spayed and neutered as part of their long-term health plan. These surgeries not only prevent pregnancies, but also lower the risk for certain cancers and prevent some other conditions entirely.
